About the Counselling Clinic

Refreshing Waters is a new psychotherapy clinic in the Durham Region. We're passionate about helping people calm their minds, find peace in the stillness, and discover opportunities to renew their soul and spirit. We focus on building resilience by overcoming trauma, compassion fatigue, anxiety, and depression, as well as supporting individuals recovering from injuries and medical conditions.

We are dedicated to making a difference in our community, not only through individual therapy but also by organizing workshops for individuals struggling with grief and trauma.

About The Role:

We are seeking a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) to join our team on a part-time fractional contractor basis, offering both in-person and virtual/remote therapy (hybrid option). If you are a compassionate clinician looking for a flexible, client-centered practice where you can truly make an impact, we encourage you to apply!

Key Responsibilities:

· Provide individual psychotherapy (and optionally group therapy) to clients dealing with trauma, grief, compassion fatigue, anxiety, depression, injuries, and other medical conditions. Offer therapy in a hybrid format (both in-person sessions at our Ajax office and virtual/remote therapy sessions using the Jane platform)

· Develop and implement personalized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each client’s needs and goals

· Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with professional and ethical guidelines

· Participate in team meetings, workshops/trainings, events

· Contribute to community workshops and outreach programs focused on grief and trauma recovery

· Stay informed on best practices and emerging research in psychotherapy

Qualifications:

· Master’s degree in Psychotherapy or a related mental health field.

· Registered Psychotherapist (RP) designation and in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)

· Minimum 2 years of clinical experience working with grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, compassion fatigue, injuries, and/or medical conditions. Experience and comfort integrating Christian counselling principles

· Professional liability insurance in accordance with CRPO requirements

· Training and experience in some or all of the following: CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Somatic Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy

· Experience working with diverse populations, including first responders, healthcare professionals, and individuals facing trauma and complex grief

· Practiced at facilitating group therapy or community workshops. Additional training in mindfulness-based approaches or trauma-informed care would be an asset

· Hands-on experience working in Jane as a practice management software system would be an asset.

· Strong ability to establish a therapeutic rapport in both in-person and virtual settings.

· Advanced organizational, communication, and time-management skills

· Disciplined in maintaining clinical documentation and developing treatment plans

· Ability to work independently while being part of a collaborative and supportive team

What We Offer:

· Flexible part-time/fractional hours (evening and weekend availability preferred)

· Competitive fee-for-service compensation based on experience and client load

· A steady flow of client assignments so you can focus on therapy, not marketing

· Hybrid work model – a mix of in-person sessions at our Ajax office and virtual/remote therapy sessions

· Full administrative support (scheduling, billing, and intake coordination)

· A fully furnished, comfortable office space in Ajax for in-person sessions

· A collaborative and supportive team environment with opportunities for professional growth

· Involvement in community outreach and workshop facilitation
